Vendor Area
Welcome to the Vendor Area of the LACUNY Institute 2001 website! The Library Association of the City University of New York (LACUNY) cordially invites you to participate in the vendor display portion of its annual Institute. This year the Institute will be held on Friday, May 18, 2001 at the Baruch College Conference Center, which is conveniently located in the Gramercy Park section of New York City. The Institute is a one-day conference on burning issues of importance to academic, special, research, and urban public libraries. The topic of this year’s Institute is Information Literacy: Reaching Diverse Populations. The Institute will include panel discussions, workshops, and breakout sessions. The presenters will touch upon strategies for teaching information literacy at an urban university with a diverse student body: ESL students, graduate students, people with disabilities, distance education students, adult learners, etc. The Institute has a 45-year tradition at CUNY. For more information about past institutes, either click on the red button on the navigational panel to the left of this text or click on this link. The Institute usually attracts 200 librarians and information science specialists not only from CUNY but also from other academic and public organizations in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. We expect a similar turnout for this year’s event. All the events at the Institute will take place on the 7th Floor of the Conference Center. Vendor displays will be located in the Gallery along with the poster sessions and refreshments. The Gallery is directly adjacent to the rooms where the panels and the breakout sessions will be held. The Institute provides a good opportunity for vendors to exhibit new products and technologies and establish contacts with librarians and library administrators. Vendors are recognized as financial backers of the Institute in the program flyer and are listed on the LACUNY Institute Web page. The following levels of participation are available:
