The presentation will discuss the development of the information studies minor from its original inception over twenty years ago to its present newly reconstituted form. It will contrast the way in which the program was first envisioned as a form of bibliographic instruction with its reformulation as the study of an independent discipline related to, but nevertheless independent from, information literacy programs. The presentation will also examine the challenges of developing such a program, including issues related to staffing and publicity.
